The Photographer

Being a Yorkshire man through and through, Les spent most of his life in Harrogate before moving to Wakefield in the mid eighties. The passion for photography was always there but unfortunately his early years were spent following his love of sport before making a successful career within the motor industry.

A change of direction came in 2004 and his passion for photography was rekindled in late 2005. The current journey has been a rapid one with help and guidance gained after joining the Wakefield Camera Club. Les has harnessed and moulded his photography skills to encompass most subjects. His passion though is the photography of landscapes, seascapes and cityscapes although he enjoys the challenges of new and varied subjects. This web site shows a variety of his talents behind the lens

Over these last two years, Les has featured in various magazines and the book “The Landscape Photographer of the Year” for both 2008 and 2009 which also included the images being displayed at The National Theatre exhibition in London and later around the UK. There have also been several awards on many photographic internet sites and recognition with sales of his work currently as far away as South Africa, Egypt and America. More recently his work has featured images of Victoria Baths, Manchester (featured on the BBC2 programme “Restoration”) these are now on display at the Baths and several pieces are for sale within the onsite shop.
