Black + White Photographer of the Year 2011

07th October 2011
A few weeks ago it was a pleasure to receive the e mail and phone call to be told you had won a category of this years Black + White Magazines Photographer of the Year.

This is certainly the highlight of the year for my photography and last Thursday evening at the awards evening at The Printspace Gallery London it all looked so real seeing my print larger than life on the wall.

Thousands of entries were received not only from the UK but also worldwide, the overall winning entry coming from New Zealand. This completion is a little different from most as the final shortlisted images have to be resubmitted as prints. I had two of my three submissions shortlisted to the print stage.

My print submission “Dials and Levers” won the Technology category, which was sponsored by Nik Software with a prize of £250.

The wining photographs are challenging, quirky, thoughtful, tender, mythic and beautiful as per Mark Bentley Deputy Editor of Black and White Magazine.
